Rahul Gupta
Head of Responsible AI @ Amazon AGI
PhD from USC, B.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur

I am a senior leader focused on Responsible AI for frontier foundation models. At Amazon, my work spans safety, evaluation, red-teaming, fairness, privacy, and mitigation capabilities for Amazon Nova and related AGI initiatives.

My work combines executive-scale technical leadership with a deep research record. During my tenure at Amazon, I have regularly presented to SVP-level leaders, reported directly into VPs, led teams as large as 50+, driven third-party safety evaluations and LMArena performance, and organized university AI safety challenges. Even while operating at that level, I take pride in staying close to hands-on science, including first-author work on CBRN uplift evaluation for frontier language models and fairness in large-scale NLU systems.

I publish at venues including NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, FAccT, and ICASSP, and help convene the field through TrustNLP, Trustworthy Speech Processing, and the SemEval Unlearning Challenge.

Full publication details are available on my Google Scholar profile, and I share recent research updates on X and LinkedIn.
